The 15th Aquaculture Association of Southern Africa (AASA) Conference

The 15th Aquaculture Association of Southern Africa (AASA) co-hosted by EU Horizon 2020 ASTRAL (All Atlantic Ocean Sustainable, Profitable & Resilient Aquaculture) will take place in Stellenbosch, 9-13th of September 2024. The ASTRAL project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 863034 The Conference program will focus on the classical Aquaculture topics like: Nutrition & Feed, Health & Disease, Breeding & Genetics, Water Ecology, Marketing & Finance, Production Systems, Aquaculture Policies etc. But new relevant topics will also be added to the program like: Sustainability, Biotechnology, Genomics, Aquaponics, New Technology & Innovation, Seaweeds, IMTA Systems, New Species and Research & Development. With this conference we have made a significant investment into the aquaculture sector and hope you will use this event to facilitate greater regional cooperation, international linkages and to make new friends and acquaintances. Given the global demands for aquaculture products and resources we have in Africa, we look forward to great advances in this sector on our continent. It is with this in mind that we believe we can collectively take aquaculture to new heights.
